Luke 12:32 says, “Fear not, little flock, for it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”. Psalm 8 asks, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” it goes on:
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
(Psalm 8:5-9 ESV).
It is “[my and] your heavenly Father’s good pleasure to give [us] the kingdom”! Have you really dwelled on that? Have you worshipped God for that today? Have you prayed, “Your Kingdom come, you will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven?”. Believers are those whose “citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).
What is man that God cares for him? Man is “in Christ”, a child of God (John 1:12). Man is “in Christ” a “co-heir” of the Kingdom (Galatians 3:29). Man is “in Christ” to the praise of God’s glorious grace (Ephesians 1:6, this phrase ” to the praise of” brings to mind a symbol a trophy of his grace). God loves his glory. God loves his Children. God loves his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus, and so in Christ he “cared for” mankind, to save us from the ruin of sin, and glorify himself. Are you in Christ? Then fear not.
